NYPD, New York Pinoy Deli Opens at Resorts World Manila

The juicy Cebu Lechon is a Pinoy Deli served at NYPD.

Resorts World Manila recently launched its latest stellar restaurant dynamically called New York Pinoy Deli (NYPD), bringing in glitter, glamour, and everything delicious.  Certainly, a portion of the main casino floor has turned into a concrete jungle where deli dreams are made of.

Wrapped in all the trims that make the Empire City a cultural icon, Resorts World Manila drew the curtains open to this latest concept restaurant, serving a buffet spread inspired by the Big Apple's unforgettable food crawls, with a touch of Filipino flair.

"The idea was to bring a very chic, wholesome, home-cooked food from New York to Manila." says RWM Chief Hotel Operations Officer, W. Scott Sibley, who, before his stint at RWM, was known as Chef Scott, carrying with him a 27-year career with the Marriot brand. "This is something diners here have never seen before with the decor, the lighting, the feel, and the flavors of New York."

NYPD serves a lineup of juicy burgers, over-the-top sandwiches, pizza and pasta creations, as well as a host of classic NYC favorites, combining with the familiar twist of local cuisine, with the likes of a Tinapa Spaghetti, and Laing Lasagna to name a few.

This delectable spread offering is a product of a diverse team of culinary geniuses, which includes Sibley, Vice President for Food and Beverage Hubertus Cramer, Director for Culinary Arts Cyrille Soenen, Pastry Chef Michael Lopez, and Chef de Cuisine Angelo "Chubby" Timban, who is at the helm of the NYPD kitchen.

There are six signature dishes that represent the flavors from the East Coast and Pinoy all-time favorites. "Come back to NYPD to fully indulge all these meticulously prepared dishes," Cramer enthused, whom I had the honor of sitting with at the table during dessert.  "There is more to see beyond first impression.  We make sure that everything is prepared to its best quality, and everyone involved works hard to maintain the excellence of each dish on a daily basis."  This invite surely made me look forward to my next dining experience at NYPD.

More than the cuisine, the decor of the restaurant adds a cosmopolitan vibe into the dining experience.  From the panoramic views of the New York City Skyline on its walls and ceilings, to the metal work accents reminiscent of the art deco facade of the Chrysler Building, making diners feel transported to the city that never sleeps.

Guests enjoy the NYC ambiance of the dining area.
